Job Description:
The Quantity Surveyor shall be responsible for managing all cost-related aspects of construction projects — from initial estimates to final accounts — ensuring that expenditures are controlled and project budgets are maintained. The Quantity Surveyor shall work closely with the project, engineering, and procurement teams to ensure accuracy in cost planning, contract administration, and progress valuation.
The Quantity Surveyor shall:

Prepare detailed cost estimates, bill of quantities (BOQ), and tender documents.

Evaluate and analyze project budgets, materials, labor costs, and subcontractor quotations.

Conduct quantity take-offs from architectural and engineering drawings.

Monitor and control project costs to ensure alignment with approved budgets.

Prepare progress billing, variation orders (VOs), and change order requests.

Review and verify subcontractor claims and supplier invoices.

Participate in bidding and procurement activities, including cost evaluations.

Maintain and update cost databases and records of completed projects for benchmarking.

Provide value engineering recommendations to optimize project costs without compromising quality.

Support the Project Manager and Finance Team in forecasting and financial reporting.
Job Qualifications:
The Quantity Surveyor shall possess the following qualifications:

Licensed Civil Engineer or BS in Civil Engineering / Quantity Surveying from an accredited university.

Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in quantity surveying, cost estimation, or project cost control in the construction industry.

Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and cost control procedures.

Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Excel, MS Project, and cost estimation software (e.g., Planswift, Bluebeam, or equivalent).

Familiar with BOQ preparation, contract management, and progress billing processes.

Excellent analytical, mathematical, and negotiation skills.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and documentation.

Good communication and coordination skills with project teams and suppliers.

Willing to travel or be assigned to project sites when required.
