Job Description:
The Purchasing Officer shall be responsible for procuring materials, supplies, and equipment required for office and project operations. The role ensures timely acquisition of quality products at competitive prices, compliance with company procurement policies, and coordination with suppliers, project managers, and other departments.
The Purchasing Officer shall:

Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure materials, tools, and equipment.

Prepare purchase requests, quotations, and purchase orders based on project requirements.

Ensure timely delivery of materials and maintain communication with suppliers regarding status, delays, or issues.

Maintain accurate records of purchases, supplier contacts, invoices, and delivery schedules.

Coordinate with Project Engineers, Foremen, and site personnel regarding material needs and specifications.

Verify the quality, quantity, and specifications of delivered items before acceptance.

Monitor inventory levels and recommend restocking or procurement plans.

Assist in vendor evaluation, supplier performance monitoring, and cost control initiatives.

Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and budget guidelines.

Prepare reports on procurement activities, expenditures, and savings.
Job Qualifications:
The Purchasing Officer shall possess the following qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or related field.

Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in construction or engineering projects.

Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.

Knowledge of construction materials, tools, equipment, and suppliers is an advantage.

Proficient in MS Office, procurement software, or inventory management systems.

Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple purchase requests simultaneously.

Honest, reliable, and able to maintain confidentiality regarding pricing and contracts.

Good communication and coordination skills with suppliers, site teams, and management.

Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
